Where to Find Raw Denim in Nashville
Start at Imogene + Willie. The shop runs out of a converted 1950s gas station in 12South, and it is the rare place where you can order made-to-measure jeans in person. Nashville is a short directory, three stores in the Nashville city listing, with the rest of the state on the Tennessee page. The trips worth planning are the two below, plus one that needs a phone call before you commit.
Imogene + Willie
The gas station at 2601 12th Ave S has been the brand's home since Matt and Carrie Eddmenson founded it in 2009. Everything is American-made, and the shop pairs made-to-measure denim with in-house tailoring, which makes it the best stop in the city if you want a pair built around your numbers rather than pulled off a rack. It is also the one Nashville store in our records that sells its own label only, which keeps the floor focused. You will not find a rack of Iron Heart or Momotaro here. You will find a long conversation about what you actually want.
Hours are Monday through Saturday 10am to 6pm and Sunday 11am to 5pm. The store page has the full details.
Loyal Stricklin
Loyal Stricklin started as a leather workshop, and the showroom on Dunn Avenue still reads that way. It is a working space more than a retail front: made-to-order denim, outerwear, and leather goods are cut and sewn in-house in Tennessee, and visitors can watch the production floor while they shop. That is a different experience from anything else in the state. Do not expect a big multi-brand wall. Expect a small room where the person who can make the thing is usually within earshot.
The showroom is at 2100 Dunn Ave. Hours in our records are Monday through Friday noon to 5pm, with no Saturday or Sunday hours listed. Check the listing before you go, and be ready for the weekday-only rhythm.
Nisolo
Nisolo's Nashville showroom sits in Germantown at 1803 9th Ave N, and it is the natural companion stop for a denim wardrobe: ethically made leather shoes and accessories rather than jeans. Here is the honest part. Recent listings report the 9th Avenue North showroom has closed, and we have not confirmed its current status. Treat it as worth a look only if you are already in Germantown, and call ahead first. The listing carries what we know.
Making a day of it
The confirmed stores split across three neighborhoods. Imogene + Willie anchors 12South, Loyal Stricklin sits on Dunn Avenue east of downtown, and Nisolo is in Germantown to the north. None of them is walkable to another. Budget for a car or a rideshare between stops, and give yourself the full morning at the gas station.
Sunday is the tricky day. Imogene + Willie opens at 11am, but our records show no weekend hours for Loyal Stricklin, and Nisolo's status is unconfirmed. If made-to-measure is the point of the trip, go Monday through Friday and start at Imogene + Willie, where the tailoring work happens on site.
One more Tennessee store sits outside Nashville and belongs on the radar anyway. Stock & Belle in Memphis operates a multi-level lifestyle boutique on South Main in the arts district, mixing clothing and denim with art, housewares, and local goods. Its listing has hours and directions.
