Where to Find Raw Denim in Seattle
Where to Find Raw Denim in Seattle
Blue Owl Workshop
The flagship at 124 NW Canal St, Suite 1 in Fremont is a raw denim showroom more than a general boutique. The racks run Japanese: Pure Blue Japan, Samurai, Japan Blue, and Naked & Famous are the names in our records, and the retailer has built its name on exclusive collaboration jeans since 2009. If you have ever wanted a pair that only one store in the country carries, this is the place to ask about it.
Hours are 11am to 6pm every day. In-store hemming is available, so bring the pair that needs taking up. The store page has the full details.
Division Road
Division Road runs on a different model now. Originally a Seattle brick-and-mortar at 517 Dexter Ave N, the business operates primarily online, with store visits by appointment. The stock skews luxury heritage: Iron Heart, Samurai, Oni, and orSlow in our records, plus Goodyear-welted footwear and workwear from makers in Japan, the UK, and North America. We have not confirmed walk-in hours, so treat the appointment route as the reliable one. The listing points to the website.
Making a day of it
The two stores sit apart. Blue Owl is in Fremont, on the north side of the ship canal. Division Road is on Dexter Avenue North, closer to the Lake Union side of the city. Plan a ride between them; they are not a walk apart.
Hemming is the question people actually have, and the answer is lopsided. Blue Owl does it in-house, every day they are open. Division Road has no hemming service in our records, so do not plan on it.
Seattle's directory is short because the state spreads its stores around. Stocklist Goods in Tacoma and Lucky Vintage in Spokane round out the Washington page, and both have their own listings in the directory.
